2009 SACH SYMPOSIUM
2nd May 2009
The date and venue of the 2009 SACH Symposium have now been confirmed as Friday October 30 - Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the Westerwood Hotel, Cumbernauld.
The Westerwood Hotel is always a popular venue for the SACH. Just 12 miles from Glasgow, the Westerwood recently underwent a £14m investment programme and boasts 148 deluxe bedrooms, an excellent golf course (designed by Seve Ballesteros) and a state of the art Health & Fitness Club, with a swimming pool, gymnasium and spa treatment rooms. Last year's Symposium, which was held at the Carnoustie Golf Hotel, was arguably the best yet. The Saturday session - which showcased new developments - proved very popular and included presentations from Dr Gordon Cowan, Specialist Registrar, Aeromedical Retrieval and Anaesthesia of the West of Scotland Emergency Retrieval Service
(EMRS); and Dr Bob Liddle, who spoke about the successful development of diagnostic and treatment services in Aberdeenshire's Community Hospitals.
"This year, we hope to focus on other topics along these lines so we can make the 2009 SACH Symposium much more about local, shared practice," said Frances Smith, Director of the SACH.
