NHS 24 - Delivering and Moving Forward
7th February 2009

John Turner, Chief Executive of NHS 24, has requested input from key partners into the development of a Strategic Framework which will guide the delivery and further development of NHS 24's services over the next three years.

"In recent years NHS 24 has made important improvements to the services we provide," John Turner writes in his letter to NHS 24's key partners. "We are now looking at how we can develop the contribution NHS 24 services make to the NHS and health in Scotland... and we wish to consider with you how this can be further developed."

As part of this consultation process, a discussion document describing NHS 24's thinking to date has been sent to key partners - and is available to download from the Resources pages of the SACH website. "We would value your input into this, not only with regard to the development of services in the out of hours period but also in how we can support the broader delivery of key health improvement priorities across Scotland using our distinctive IT and telephone infrastructure, and the skills and experience of our staff," explained John Turner.

Responses can be returned by downloading the respondee form, which can also be found in the Resources pages of the SACH website, by emailing strategyconsultation@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk or by visiting www.nhs24/strategy. Input is required by March 13, 2009.

In order to ensure that the process of engagement is open, John and his team are willing to meet with key partners to discuss issues further and a round table event will be held in central Scotland in late February/early March 2009.
