New Community Hospital for Girvan

With building work on the new Girvan Community Hospital complete, the focus is now on transferring services from the existing hospital, health centre and Social Work to the new facility.

All staff currently based at the Davidson Cottage Hospital and Girvan Health Centre will transfer to the new facility. Staff from Social Work (Older People’s Services) will transfer from the local South Ayrshire Council offices in Girvan and Maybole, while the Scottish Ambulance Service will move from its current base in the town.

The forthcoming SACH Committee Meeting is to be held in the new Girvan Community Hospital prior to its official opening. "This will allow the SACH Committee members to have a walk about this fabulous new Community Hospital and speak to staff," said Frances Smith, Director of the SACH.
