SACH 2009 AGM

The SACH AGM was held on October 31 and was well-attended.
Committee Members
Dr Bruce McMaster was re-elected as Chairman and Dr Hamish McBride was re-elected as Treasurer.
Dr Anne Hendry - National Lead Long Term Condition Scottish Government, Primary & Community Care Directorate Partnership Improvement & Outcomes Division,Consultant Geriatrician in Lanarkshire and an Associate of the Joint Improvement Team (JIT) - was appointed Vice Chair.
Ms Linsey Stobo, Head OT NHS Ayrshire and Arran, is the newest member of the SACH Committee. Although Shirley Dempsey has retired from the NHS, she has kindly agreed to be a lay representative on the SACH Committee while Cathy Adamson will represent the Voluntary Sector .
SACH 3-Year Business Plan.
The SACH 3-Year Business Plan was discussed and accepted by the Committee. The Plan includes a new vision that 'Intermediate Care should be an integral part of a quality Health and Social Care System across the NHS in Scotland' and includes five Strategic Objectives.

Community Hospital Database
Following the award of funding, a proposal to populate a comprehensive Database for all Community Hospitals in Scotland was discussed.
Membership
The importance of increasing membership to the SACH was one of the discussion points of the AGM. A letter is to be sent to all CHPs to obtain support of subscription to their local Community Hospitals. In addition, new membership forms have been developed and are available to download by clicking below.
Teleconferencing
To encourage better communicatiion with Remote and Rural areas, the SACH intend to pilot teleconference facilities in the new office in early December .
Healthcare Quality Strategy for Scotland Members were reminded that the Strategy is out for consultation until 27th November and are encouraged to contribute.
