Uptake and Impact of The Productive Ward
11th March 2010
The latest issue of the National Nursing Research Unit at King's College London's Policy+ newsletter focuses on the question: 'The Productive Ward: What do we know about uptake and impact on staff and patients?'
Drawing on a recent review by the National Nursing Research Unit, Policy+ considers the evidence for whether or not this ward-based quality improvement programme is fulfilling its aims.
The newsletter concludes that:
· The Productive Ward programme is perceived positively by frontline staff.
· There is huge potential for nursing staff and their organisations to make use of the programme to improve service delivery, staff skills and patient care.
· Spreading uptake and impact requires continued regional support and
enthusiasm from NHS staff to share their learning and insights.
· More research is needed to assess uptake and measure impact across the NHS and on patient care.
